Temperature control (chickens):
Chickens regulate body temperature through their feet (that’s why they stand in water in summer). In high heat (around 85°F+):

• Do not use full, closed Birdy Booties on chickens.
• Use Chicken Sandals for hot-weather protection so toes can ventilate and the bird can cool naturally.

Measure, don't guess:
Poultry feet vary widely. Too loose = the bootie falls off. Too tight = pressure sores and restricted circulation.

• Use the measuring guide on the page—do not estimate by breed alone.
• Measure each foot individually if both are affected.

Secure the fit with the leg band:
